Saturday, the big climactic day of the Burn, included the Department of Public Works parade. These are the people that come out weeks before and stay weeks after to build the infrastructure of BM.

That afternoon, the man was lowered, stuffed with fireworks, then raised again. Meanwhile, the ICP (Impotence Compensator Project), which consists of five giant flame throwers, was set up front of the man. My friend Mike, in the silver suit, helped. His friend Jim, in the final shot, had built them.

The burn was supposed to be a choreographed event, with fire dancers (there are a lot fire dancers at BM), the flame throwers, and finally the burn.
