Sadly, things went a bit awry. As we waited for the burn, freezing our tushies off (it was the coldest night yet), suddenly and prematurely the man just about exploded. It turned out that some neon wiring on one of the arms had shorted out and lit the fireworks. The result wasn't choreographed, but it was quite spectacular. The flame throwers didn't really get to do their thing until the next night. Whooeeeee, Bertha sure can shoot it high! Don't try this at home. There were many other fires that night as people burned their art. Mary and I went from fire to fire. Each had its own atmosphere and moments. The next morning we packed up the truck and headed for home. But we'll be coming back...back home to Burning Man. We hope to see you there. [Previous] [Page 8 of 8] [Back to Ray Koltys] |
