Day 6: As night fell, we drove around to the far side of Arenal Volcano in hopes of seeing some lava. Amazingly, we did, and even more amazingly, I got a picture to prove it!
Day 7: The next morning, we headed toward the Pacific, stopping at a private cloud forest preserve.

Day 7: As we approached Jaco, on the Pacific coast, Manfred, our driver, spotted two Scarlet Macaws, which mate for life.
