In the Fall of 2000, Mary and I went to Burning Man.What is Burning Man? BM is a weeklong festival of sorts that takes place every Autumn in the Black Rock Desert in Nevada. It consists of a temporary community in which you can do just about anything you want, as long as you don't hurt anyone, nothing can be bought or sold, and the next priority after food, water and shelter is the making and displaying of art. At its peak this year, there were 25,000 people in what is called Black Rock City.Mary and I had just met in April. Somehow within the first few days of contact we discovered that each of us wanted to go. So we made it happen. We had quite a trip. I hope you enjoy this brief travelogue.
