Part of the attraction for me, this year, was riding around Black Rock City, meeting some of the other Airstreamers that were there. I have to give a special nod to Stealth and B, of Bunny Bunny camp, in the first photo. In my darkest hour of preparations for the trip, when I realized that Barney, the 1986 Suburban, wasn't up to towing Betty across the country and back, they opened my eyes to the wonders of the Ford Bronco. Without them and their encouragement, I might not have found Bam Bam and made the journey. Thanks, guys!
Below is a sampling of the Airstreams to be seen on the playa in 2003. You will see quite a variety of vintages and sizes, and one Streamline (competition to Airstream), because I think they are cool, too:
